In my mid twenties whilst travelling South-East Asia, I came across various people who confided in me about their issues. I was no therapist, but a good listener and used to challenge their stories and offer different perspectives.

It was also on my travels that I received a treatment from an Israeli holistic massage therapist, God knows I didn't know what that was, but I sure know the after feeling. Walking on the streets of Yangshao like I was floating on water, radiating in a different state of awareness. He suggested I do a two week course up in the hospital in Chong Mai in Thai massage and that is what I did.

It wasn't until I was on a shiatsu course, where I experienced energy currents running through my body whilst connecting acupressure points that my curiosity got fully awakened. Now what is the best way to make a left brain person see that the world is not only mind and logic? Right, you make them experience. This is what peyote, weed, hallucinogenics etc do. My journey was slightly different, I went for a Reiki session and met all my spirit guides, ancestors etc. and started to regress automatically and end up in past lives and no they were not necessarily the lives one would choose for ones self. For the next 5 years I explored in depth the art of past life regression with guides and entities not of this earth. I cleansed houses, objects, talked to entities/ghotsts, channelled, worked with psychic surgery, and emotional healing with the focus of healing others, and that of course came unstuck. Because I believe that we are foremost healers of ourselves not necessarily others.

My search into understanding myself and others took me to study hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, yoga and meditation, taichi, qi kung, various types of massage, nutrition, clairvoyance, tarot, tuina, acupuncture and finally Chinese aromatherapy/stones, minerals and herbs. So do I think healing is in any of these specifically? Yes and No. Yes, we all sometimes need help especially when we lack the resources ourselves, need support in difficult situations or suffer ill-health.

Yet, I was searching for something that I could not put into words until I was there and that is the journey of coming "home" more and more. Meeting myself moment to moment, being open and willing to meet all my inadequacies and fears without making myself wrong. Relating with others from where I find myself in any given moment, is hugely refreshing and freeing. And the greatest gift is that I now intensely feel life through my heart and can welcome the painful experiences as much as the ecstatic ones.

When I am not working, I love spending my spare time being with horses. I love being outdoors on the beach, in the woods and on the Moor, walking my dogs. During school time, I tend to hang out at Staverton Bridge Nursery which combines the beautiful view on the river with good coffee, I love nice and good things. Dance is where I have always been able to express myself authentically, and I still love moving and listening to music that moves me from time to time. Foremost of all I love to share my joy of life with my daughter and continue to learn through her.

Tim Sullivan is an integrative practitioner of Classical Chinese medicine using Acupuncture, Tuina (Chinese medical massage/acupressure), mineral therapy, essential oils and nutrition.

He teaches at the College of Integral Chinese Medicine in Reading, The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington and runs post graduate courses in Classical Chinese Acupuncture, Tuina and Massage Therapy London, the South West and Brighton.

Tim focuses on the importance of self-awareness, sensory embodiment and presence as the foundation for engaging with our own body’s healing mechanisms. Tim uses the tremendous resources of Classical Chinese Medicine to improve heath, prevent disease and bring change into your life.

Tim specialises in treating aches, pains, mysterious pains that come and go, pain aggrevated by the seasons, old injuries and new injuries. Through interventions that involve your direct participation he teaches you how to improve your own healing process. Together you will explore patterns that can keep conditions stuck in the body. Often mental and emotional conditions have a direct impact on the body. By treating them through the body, with self-awareness, embodiment and presence, you change.

For Tim, it is important that each person is given the tools they need to improve their own health.

Tim is a student of Daoist Master, Jeffrey Yuen and continues to train extensively with him. Tim also runs a drop-in tarot for students of all levels and abilities.
